ARCAEVI — TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective date: 2026-09-11

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Arcaevi, including its website, archive, Acts, documents, accounts, interactive choices, and related services.

By entering Arcaevi, creating or using an account, or continuing anonymously, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you may choose “No, thanks” and leave.

1. WHAT ARCAEVI IS

Arcaevi is an independent interactive archive and narrative project.

Material within Arcaevi may be presented in the form of records, documents, research, testimony, correspondence, stories, interfaces, or other archival formats.

Some names, locations, dates, sequences, documents, events, and other details may be altered, anonymized, obfuscated, fictionalized, speculative, incomplete, or intentionally presented without a settled interpretation.

Some material may reference real history, science, philosophy, religion, art, publications, people, places, or events. Their inclusion does not mean that every conclusion drawn around them is established fact.

You are encouraged to distinguish evidence from interpretation and reach your own conclusions.

2. ACCESS

Arcaevi may require authentication to access parts of the archive.

Available access methods may include:

  • Anonymous access
  • Email
  • Google
  • Discord
  • Other authentication methods added later

Anonymous access may still create a technical account identifier so that Arcaevi can preserve your progress, choices, permissions, and access history.

“Anonymous” does not mean that no technical information whatsoever is processed. Ordinary server logs, security information, session data, IP addresses, or similar technical information may be processed when necessary to operate and protect the service.

Authentication exists primarily to preserve user state and reduce automated abuse, unauthorized access, database attacks, and disruption of the archive.

3. NO PAYWALL, SUBSCRIPTIONS, OR DATA SALES

Arcaevi does not require a paid subscription to access its intended public experience.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

We do not require you to join a mailing list, purchase a product, or participate in a marketing funnel in order to continue.

Arcaevi is not intended to function as an advertising campaign disguised as an interactive experience.

Some third-party authentication providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies when you choose to use them.

You may use anonymous access instead where available.

4. YOUR PATH THROUGH THE ARCHIVE

Certain parts of Arcaevi ask you to make choices.

Those choices may affect:

  • what material becomes available to you;
  • the order in which material appears;
  • your progress through the archive;
  • access to certain documents or records;
  • other aspects of the experience.

There may be no objectively correct choice.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, choices made after completing an Act are final and cannot be changed.

This is an intentional part of the system.

Different users may therefore receive access to different material.

Arcaevi does not guarantee that every user will be able to access every record.

5. ACCOUNTS

You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

If you authenticate through a third-party provider, you are also responsible for maintaining the security of that account.

Do not intentionally impersonate another person, gain unauthorized access to another account, or attempt to manipulate another user's stored progress.

We may suspend or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect Arcaevi, its infrastructure, its users, or its records.

6. ACCEPTABLE USE

You may explore, read, investigate, discuss, analyze, and attempt to interpret material made available to you through Arcaevi.

You may not intentionally:

  • attack, overload, disable, or interfere with the service;
  • attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, access controls, or database security;
  • exploit vulnerabilities to access records you have not legitimately unlocked;
  • automate excessive requests or scraping in a way that disrupts the service;
  • introduce malware or malicious code;
  • obtain or expose another user's private account information;
  • manipulate stored data, timestamps, choices, or records without authorization;
  • use Arcaevi infrastructure for unlawful activity.

Curiosity is allowed.

Breaking the archive is not.

7. RECORDS, SOURCES, AND UNVERIFIED MATERIAL

Arcaevi may contain claims whose origin, accuracy, interpretation, or authenticity has not been fully established.

A record appearing in the archive does not automatically mean that Arcaevi endorses the record as true.

Labels such as “verified,” “checked,” “source,” “evidence,” “unconfirmed,” or similar terminology describe the status assigned by Arcaevi within the project and should not automatically be interpreted as scientific, legal, historical, or institutional certification.

Sources should be evaluated independently where possible.

Some questions may intentionally remain unresolved.

8. SCIENCE, HEALTH, HISTORY, RELIGION, AND OTHER SUBJECTS

Arcaevi may discuss scientific research, medicine, altered states, substances, history, philosophy, religion, psychology, technology, or other subjects.

This material is provided as part of the archive and narrative experience.

It is not professional medical, legal, financial, psychological, scientific, or other professional advice.

Do not treat fictional, speculative, historical, or narrative material as instructions for unsafe real-world behavior.

9. USER SUBMISSIONS

If Arcaevi later allows you to submit documents, messages, files, evidence, observations, or other material, additional submission terms may apply.

Unless otherwise stated, you must only submit material that you have the right to provide.

Do not submit passwords, highly sensitive personal information, illegal material, malware, or another person's private information without authorization.

Submitting material does not guarantee that it will be published, investigated, preserved permanently, or treated as authentic.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless otherwise indicated, the Arcaevi interface, original writing, fictional records, visual identity, logos, designs, classifications, original documents, and other original project material are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Third-party works, quotations, research, artwork, music references, trademarks, and other material remain the property of their respective owners.

You may link to and discuss publicly accessible Arcaevi material.

These Terms do not grant permission to reproduce or commercially redistribute substantial portions of copyrighted Arcaevi material except where permitted by law or separately authorized.

11. PRIVACY

Arcaevi aims to collect and retain only information reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain user progress, secure the archive, investigate abuse, and provide requested functionality.

The exact information processed depends on how you access the service.

For example, using Google, Discord, or email authentication may provide Arcaevi with account information associated with that authentication method.

Anonymous authentication is available where supported for users who do not wish to provide those account credentials.

Technical logging may still occur for security and service operation.

More detailed information about data handling should be provided in the Arcaevi Privacy Policy.

If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy regarding the processing of personal information, the Privacy Policy controls for that issue.

12. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Arcaevi may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, databases, security, fonts, content delivery, or other infrastructure.

Those services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

Arcaevi is not responsible for independent third-party services outside its control.

13. AVAILABILITY

The archive may change.

Records may be corrected, moved, removed, restored, reclassified, or made unavailable.

Features may temporarily stop working.

Access may be interrupted for maintenance, security, technical failures, or circumstances outside our control.

We do not guarantee permanent availability of any particular page, record, Act, document, or feature.

If something disappears, it is not necessarily part of the story.

14. DISCLAIMERS

Arcaevi is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We cannot guarantee that:

  • every record is accurate;
  • every interpretation is correct;
  • every external source remains available;
  • the service will always be uninterrupted;
  • every mystery has an answer;
  • every answer will be given to you.

Where factual claims are presented alongside fictional, speculative, or unresolved material, readers should evaluate the underlying sources independently.

15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Arcaevi and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer or other laws.

16. TERMINATION AND RESTRICTION

You may stop using Arcaevi at any time.

We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of:

  • abuse;
  • attacks against the service;
  • attempts to bypass access controls;
  • unlawful activity;
  • significant violations of these Terms;
  • security risks.

Where practical, restrictions should be proportionate to the problem being addressed.

17. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

These Terms may change as Arcaevi develops.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date or otherwise providing reasonable notice where required.

Continuing to use Arcaevi after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by applicable law.

18. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.

Any dispute arising from or relating to Arcaevi or these Terms will be handled by a court of competent jurisdiction in the State of Alabama, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

19. OPERATOR AND CONTACT

Arcaevi is an independent project operated from the State of Alabama, United States.

Arcaevi is not currently operated by a separate incorporated legal entity.

Questions regarding these Terms may be sent to:

4rcaevi@gmail.com

For purposes of these Terms, references to “Arcaevi,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refer to the operator of the Arcaevi service.

By continuing, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Terms.

Some records require a path.

The Terms do not.
